2002 Tahoe COMPRESSOR A / C DESTROYED - WAS RED HOT shining smoke everywhere - DOC What is the diagnosis?

I have a 2002 Tahoe with only 38,000 miles since new. A / C working well after all, the cold air blowing quit, and then a noise under the hood. By the time he was able to pull over, the smoke was billowing from the roof and the compressor A / C, RED HOT literally bright sparks flying everywhere. The car has never had a problem of any kind. Then this from scratch - A / C unmet as front and rear have always been much cold once the initial heat is then removed with a constant airflow through the grid. OK .. Guys ... I can handle it. What's the bad news in all this? How hard earned money to fix this problem? Should I DISTRIBUTORS speak for it and just replace "all" or a question that I know something that I do .. take advice all.Metal the change of the compressor is more than likely sent through the whole system.The online only "filter" as you put the tube usually catch most of the Orphic metal competition. but not all dealers it.The know what you need to go ahead and bite the bullet may cost more, but now will help in the long term.
